Content Management System:

The vfree.tv Content Management System provides an effective platform for managing the content provided by various sources and content repositories connected to the vfree.tv platform. In particular the Content Management System handles the distribution of specific content and advertisement to customer segments and geographies as well as it flexibly takes care of content priorities and content promotions. Beyond this, the Content Management System ensures the quality, performance and consistency of server side content classification and metadata.

Audience and Content Analytics:

To get a real-time detailed feedback on the consumption of content by the audience, the Audience and Content Analytics System provides a multitude of reports by customer segment, content, content segment, geography, device, time, etc. This knowledge, while ensuring strict customer privacy and customer data protection, enables the Service Provider or Broadcaster as well as the Content Provider and Advertiser to adapt their content or distribution focus and policy. On top of that, this feedback will give an immediate response to the content producers about the adoption of their productions by the respective customer segment. Device and Media Space Handling System:

Handling the vfree.tv Clients is the main task of the Device and Media Space Handling System. The System provides centralized functionality for all the connected clients and ensures their consistency and performance. Beyond this, it provides functions like Device Management and Automatic Software Updates and implements important interfaces towards the Customer Relationship Management System of the Service Provider.

vfree.tv Client:

The vfree.tv Client is the portfolio element, which is either implemented in a set-top-box or integrated into a TV-set and which is designed in a way to reliably handle significant amounts of data from the storage as well as from the processing perspective. To ensure this, a distributed architecture between the clients and the Server Suite as well as between the clients themselves is implemented. As lowest hardware costs at best performance have been one of the key design aspects, the client is intended to run on standard Intel Atom architectures, including consumer device centric chipsets like the Sodaville platform. This platform is perfectly suited for full High Definition playback.
